Biography
Wife and mother of two, Janny Gaspard Laguerre, identifies herself as a social multipreneur and passionate about travel and politics.
From a professional point of view, political activist, former school board, provincial candidate and social activist, Janny wears several hats. In addition to her work in the Quebec public service, she wants to be a reasonable voice for influence and change for women through entrepreneurial initiatives and leadership.
Janny holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Concordia University and is pursuing her studies in Applied Policy with Legal Development. At the same time, she regularly contributes to public debates on news issues in Quebec, Canada, and internationally through writings, speeches, and conferences. Moreover, she undertook several missions and economic exchanges among others, in the United States, Haiti, Canada, France and Germany which allowed her to meet influential personalities.
Very sensitive to societal issues such as sustainable development, equity, and social justice, and women’s empowerment, Ms. Gaspard Laguerre wants to make a difference by actively getting involved to help women achieve and develop their potential. This has allowed her to put her ideas into actions through several start-ups that she has developed over the years, such as "Café SoulJazz", "Le Réseau des jeunes professionels", "Femme qui Fonce", "Dear Sisters”, “Political Women in Canada” and more.
To help others and give back, she quickly understood that social entrepreneurship is a sustainable path to take to impact and leave a legacy for the future generation. Her goal is to be able to help, influence, motivate and positively support both personally and professionally one woman at a time so that they find a balance in their lives.
