Biography

Rahim has a passion for youth empowerment, volunteering and diversity & inclusion. He is the Co-Founder and Director of “Leading Future” a nonprofit organization responsible for providing free education and professional development skills to the people from low socioeconomic background and youth of our community. Through this initiative, Rahim aims to build and provide a safe platform for our youth to practice their skills and become future leaders of our society.

Rahim is well known for his active engagement and volunteering activities within the local and broader community. Hi has been called a ‘super-volunteer’ by SBS News Australia and have been featured in several other articles and interviews. Some of the organizations Rahim has volunteered with include NSW State Emergency Service, Australian Red Cross, St John Ambulance, Surf Life Saving NSW, City of Sydney, Rural Fire Service NSW and Ripple.

Rahim has also been an advocate for young people and multicultural groups for many years, previously worked with Council of International Students Australia and Study NSW on several projects and campaigns for the betterment of young people and international students. Currently Rahim is involved with NSW State Emergency Service as a Advisor for the Diversity & Inclusion Steering Committee representing the volunteers and working towards building a safer and more inclusive space for community.

Rahim is currently finishing his Bachelors Degree in Community Services and holds a Diploma in Community Services and Foundation Degree in Life Sciences from University of New South Wales, Australia.

In 2018 he was awarded a scholarship for the International Entrepreneurship bootcamp in Stockholm, Sweden and later participated in the UN Immersion program in Geneva, Switzerland. Rahim also received another scholarship from New South Wales Government that led him to CISA national conference in Perth and represented New South Wales as a student ambassador.

In 2020 Rahim was awarded with Bushfire Citation by New South Wales Premier and Commissioner’s Certificate for his invaluable work during 2019-20 black bushfires in New South Wales, Australia. Rahim was also nominated for the New South Wales Volunteer of the Year Award Young Nominee for 2022.
